Help with decision, dressier vs. Tool watch, Tudor vs. Grand Seiko

Hi all, New here, first, I hope this is the right forum, there's a lot! Second, I need some help making a decision. I've been hemming and hawing over various watches in the $1500-$3500 price range and I think there's two I like the most in particular. They're two fairly different watches and that's my issue, I have a Breitling Superocean GMT, a Tudor Tiger Chronograph, and a vintage gg-w-113 from my father. All fairly tool watch types, I can't decide between more tool watch or a dressier watch with what I have now, my dad's advice is that he likes tool watches more - thanks dad Haha. I feel stuck between In Particular I was looking at the Tudor Black Bay Bronze, is that too many tool watches? And on the other side the Grand Seiko SBGR055 (I believe this is the same as the 255 with older logos on the dial) anyways thank you in helping me make a decision, this whole forum seems really great!

    Welcome to the forum!

A lot of people have all "tool" watches as they rarely have the occasion to suit up, and some have a range of dress watches as it fits their attire. It really depends on your lifestyle and what you like aesthetically.

Personally, I rarely wear a suit but am in "business attire" frequently such as collared shirt, jacket and smart slacks, therefore, recently, I have been purchasing watches that are more GADA (go anywhere, do anything) which are like, but not specifically the Rolex Explorer or Omega Aqua Terra.

Good luck with your hunt and the Breitling and Tudor are great watches!

Thank you! I like that Idea of a go anywhere watch, I would say my lifestyle with clothes matches that nearly exactly. Something to think about, black bay 41, etc. Or perhaps a bit more subdued than a black bay bronze. Anyways, more to think about!

I’m usually a great advocate of the BB but there’s something about the GS that I don’t think I’d be able to pass up.

The B.B. Are very thick, notnsire they are go anywhere do anything. Definitely fall
    On the sport tool side.

I believe the in house movements are even thicker.

Between the 2 mentioned, definitely No Bronze & not crazy about that Grand Seiko. Keep looking and good luck!

I'm not crazy about Bronze. If it was the Red, Blue or Black...I'd have said Tudor. The GrandSeiko is also magnificent.
My brother chose the SBGX117 over a Pelagos.

I passed on the BB for its thickness. The GS is cool cool cool!!! Smooth sweep of the spring drive second hand is sweet.
