Help me find a casual-dressy watch

    Hey everyone,
I'm looking to buy myself a new watch next month as a birthday present to myself (good excuse, right). I work as an IT engineer in a fairly laid back environment, so I can wear jeans and a shirt most of the time. I want a watch that would fit my style, which would be something between dress and casual. You know, something that can be dressed up or down and look good whatever you wear.

    Budget:
Up to € 500 give or take

    What I want:
    • automatic
    • 40mm (+-1)
    • see through case back
    • leather strap
    • casual-dressy style
    • prefer new

I currently own a Tissot T-Lord Small Seconds (pictured below) and it is perfect.

Here are a few watches that fit my criteria, but I can't decide which one to get. If you own any of these, please post some real life photos. Also, if you know of any other watches meeting my criteria, please let me know. I'm leaning towards the Seiko SARX017 at the moment. Which one would you get?

all your choices look great. That last certina would be my pick. It is very classy

I love the SARB065, although it might be a little dressy for your environment, don't know. How about a dressy looking diver? My Christopher Ward C60 straddles the casual/dressy very well I think. If it's too big at 42mm, check out the C61 which is 38mm.

I think the Seiko SARB065 is one of the most beautiful watches I've ever seen. And it's insanely affordable! If I had some extra $$ today I'd place an immediate order for it.

My vote goes for either Hamilton Jazzmaster Viewmatic or Certina DS1, both feel like the best "casual-dressy" options of what you posted
    Do something exceptionally mediocre today

My vote is for the Seiko Cocktail Time SARB065 or Hamilton Jazzmaster. The SARB065 is a really excellent watch for a great price and IMO the best looking of the bunch. It's the one watch I ever bought where I couldn't find one flaw on it, not one thing for my OCD mind to obsess over, and it can actually be dressed up or down really easily.

All your choices are first class but my vote would go to the Jazzmaster Slim.
