    Help me find a watch?

    Hey all,
I recently bought a Tissot V8 with a quartz ETA movement. It's a brilliant looking watch, but coming from an automatic, I miss having a mechanical movement.
I know a bit about watches as I am developing an interest in watches.

The challenge, should you choose to accept, is to help me find a watch that meets most of the below requirements:

Preferably an in-house movement, if possible
Automatic or manual winding mechanical movement, swiss made
    Respected Swiss brand
    No tachymeter on the bezel
Arabic numerals on at least the 12, 3, 6, and 9, but preferably a full arabic face
    Unique, if possible
    Preferred leather strap, black

I like the Xetum Tyndall but it is a bit pricey. Somewhat disappointed with their pricing especially with the Stinson when you can find that movement in sub $500 watches.

In terms of budget, if i really like it I can do over $1000 but I'd like to keep it under that.

New in house swiss under $1000 isn't possible, I don't think.

I figured that wouldn't be possible from what I've seen, so it doesn't really crush me to not have one.

In that case with ETA movements (if you want Swiss, as opposed to Seiko who make excellent good value watches with in house movements) then you have many options. Something like this, you say?

Dunno. Check Tissot, Hamilton, Sinn,Christopher Ward maybe.

    Or buy a preowned Xetum.

As Geoff says - if you're prepared to replace the bit in your quote above (that I have highlighted) then you might have a criteria that can be worked upon.

I actually just found Prometheus, and quite like the Recon 5. Simple, clean, and a really nice looking movement. Love the size too.
What is the general feeling here on Prometheus watches?

Their dress watches look nice - quite unique - though I've never seen any of them in the metal. Haven't come across the Recon before; looks similar to other 6497-powered fleigers from Laco etc though.

Never seen them before but just looked them up.

As for the recon 5 - I have to be honest and say I hate the sub dial placement at 9.

The "in house" rage escapes me but if you can "settle" for a ETA movement you have a world of options.
