    NIVADA WT TRAVELMASTER ALARM WORLD TIME

    Can you help me?? I'd like to get any possible information about this watch, as I seem to be unable to find out whatever about it, though it seems to be quite rare.
    Thanks

    WT = Worldtimer
    Movement = A.Schild 1568, alarm
    Date of manufacture: 60s

    Nivada was founded in 1925 at Grenchen/Switzerland known as Wüllimann Schneider Nivada S.A.
    Nivada never made the step to produce own (in-house) movements. Instead of developping own movements Nivada relied on buying proven and reliable moverments from ETA and Phénix S.A. (Porrentruy/Switzerland).
    Nivada was known for producing an overall good quality. Some of their famous watches have been
    + "Rollamatic" (some named "Rollador") with cal. Phenix 200
    + "Reglavit", a waterresistant watch, to regulate the watch you had to
    use a screw in the back of the watch so you had not to open the case
    which was important to it´s waterresistance
    + "Antartic", a three hands watch with date indication
    + "Depthmaster", waterresistant to 1000m (the case was similar to
    Panerai)
    + "Depthomatic" , fitted with ETA 2472, 200m waterresisant
    + "Alertamatic", alarm watch with Lemania 2980, very similar to Omega

    Btw: I wouldn't agree that the Travelmaster Alarm is a rare watch.
    Kind regards
    Mike

    FYI - it's a GMT not a worldtimer, no matter what they call it

    With all due respect but the AS 1568 never ever has been a GMT, the green hand is the seconds hand and the right tipped hand is the alarm hand.
    Alarm set with crown at 2, time set with crown at 4.
    Kind regards

    Ok, even more to prove my point ... A manually rotated bezel, each time you want to know the time, is not a worldtimer

    Well, in the 60s and 70s a lot of watches were named worldtimer without being one.
    Le Coultre, Oris, Seiko, Orient, Sorna, Movado come to my mind. Spirit of the time.
    Kind regards
