help! Need watch suggestions for my wife

My wife's birthday is coming up quickly and would like to get her an automatic watch. Unfortunately, my budget is capped at a few hundred dollars. Hoping for find something WITHOUT bling. She would appreciate a simple or classic look. Leather strap probably preferred. If there was a nice more feminine Flieger watch (like my Stowa) no larger than 37 or so. Or a classic but attractive field watch, etc.. Open to all kinds of suggestions. Its hard looking for women's watches! What's out there you've come across?

Archimede makes flieger in 36mm, which priced cheaper than Stowa’s. Alternatively, Marathon GPM Steel might do, it’s handwound though. It’s also 36mm and with quite a unique case shape.

Consider vintage men’s watches. My wife, until recently, wore a 1946 Girard Perregaux Seahawk. Classic look, 33mm, surprising cheap and very cool.

Or check out Christopher Ward, I think it's a very handsome watch for the price. Workmanship is top notch in their respective price point.

I agree. Vintage men's watches are small and often make great women's watches.

As I've posted before, research on gift-giving indicates that the surprise value is far greater for the giver than the receiver, and that the best approach is to clear the gift in advance. What this means is, identify say three possible watches in the right price range; tell your wife that you want to buy her a watch and that you'd identified these three as possible gifts; and then ask her what would she like. She may choose one of the three. Or, knowing how much you're prepared to spend given the choices, she might come up with her own choice. That is the watch you get her. This way, you give her the gift you want, and she gets the watch she wants. The apparent risk is that she decides to get some quartz fashion watch that wouldn't be recommended in a million years in a thread such as this. But it will make her happy.

These watches should check off all the boxes for you - non-bling, pilot, automatic, less than 37mm.

    Laco stockholm:

London, same watch above on a leather strap:

    Or the ingolstadt:

    https://www.laco.de/en/watches/pilot...tch-ingolstadt

You should be able to find them cheaper elsewhere.
