Smile Help Sizing Rubber Strap ...any tips ? Muhle SAR -Similar to Sinn U1

I have new Muhle SAR and I cut off enough tabs to get a reasonable fit .
I'd like to go one more tab but really hate to make it too small . This clasp has one functional micro adjustment .. I'm on the smaller setting ,I'd put it back if another tab comes off

I would like to know if there is a preference or reason to leave on side 6 o'clock or 12 o'clock side longer or shorter ... at this point I have 2 holes to use on both sides & I'm not sure which side to cut down .

I do have the bracelet on back order

I'm not sure what the preference is for having one side of the strap the longest but what REALLY matters is that the watch fits your wrist. There's no point in having to wear your watch with the dial on the outside of your wrist just because you were "supposed" to have the 12 o-clock side the shortest. Good luck with cutting the strap - I reckon it ranks along with a visit to the dentist for fun.

This is a painful process ... I just figured why not ask before I perform surgery [ LOL].. I think im too picky wanting the watch to fit close but not tight ! it's a challenge as we all know your wrist will expand & contract during the day

I would opt for a slightly looser fit on a rubber strap because I have found (I don't know what others think) that they tend to grip your wrist better than a bracelet or leather strap and so are more forgiving.

I cut one to fit...And when I finished it was too tight.

Measure twice, cut once. The fitment on your wrist and how it seats on the top is something you have to play around with a bit before you decide to make the actual cut.
