I am looking to get a new chronograph and have a few that i really like, but i have 4 main contenders - 2 are Tag's and 2 are Bremonts.
1. TAG Heuer Carrera Cal1887 Chronograph Jack Heuer Edition
2. Tag Heuer CALIBRE 17 Automatic Chronograph 41 mm
3. Bremont Boeing Model 247 Ti-GMT
4. Bremont ALT1-C/AN
I have a retainer on the 1887 but to try the Bremonts i would need to go iinto London to try it on.
Budget is around £4200. Depreciation is not a big factor as i dont plan to change it out, hence why i wanted a sort of timeless classic looking watch that i can wear day or night.
Chronoghraph is a preference but not 100% essential, again the date is a preference but not essential.
my biggest issue is to get the Bremont i have to go into London (from the Midlands) which i dont mind doing if its worth the trip? looking around the forums it seems both brands are like marmite. my fav looking watch is the Calibre 17, but the Jack Heuer edition comes a very very close second and has the 1887 movement!
The Bremonts are nice looking watches and I really like the appeal of the brand. But are they that much better than the Tag's that i should attempt the M25 on bank holiday to get down to London to try them on?
any help on making a decision would be much appreciated.
