The movement is a crying shame: fake.

I hope the guy didn't owe you more than $20 (about what these cost in Thailand)

$10 on the streets on New York.

To the OP it's a replica, and a horrible one at that. I suggest googling Patek Philippe movements, and you will immediately see the difference.

Never knew Patek to use a Valjoux 7751 clone.

I often wonder if some of the posts like this aren't originated by people who are trying to see if there replicas will fool watch enthusiasts, or to see how good their fake is. I'm not however saying that was the intent of the OP.

I would think if they are savvy enough to do that, they'd be savvy enough to disguise their crime better than the example shown above. Interesting thought in general though.

I'm not even sure what model they are trying to replicate...I wish all fakes were that obvious. Not going to fool anyone who's ever seen a Patek.

The angle of the balance bridge reminds me of the Hangzhou movements that show up in many "homages". Very Chinese. And of course it's a day/night complication not a moon phase, another dead giveaway. You could buy a similar Jaragar, Goer, Alias Kim, AKHomme or Winner on fleaBay of $0.99 + $12 shipping. Sad.
Too many watches, not enough wrists.
