    Hamilton Field Khaki

Not sure why you'd limit yourself to Swiss though....

Agree all the way with the above reply... If you want Swiss + inexpensive + auto = Hamilton Khaki

Take a good look at some of the Christopher Ward offerings. I have a C5 Malvern automatic and love it (and it was well under $500). Good luck with your search.

I don't own a Hamilton (yet), but with their reputation, you certainly couldn't go wrong with one.

+1 Christopher Ward has some great looking watches.

Check out Aristo and Junkers offerings. Affordable German automatics if you're after something with a simple, legible dial.

Yes, this Hamilton is nice and meet my criterias - only I would have liked it to be waterresistant to at least 10 atm.

Why is the Tissot not very popular?

This Raymond Weil can be had for 525 at jomashop, I really like it but like the Hamilton, a bit bigger at 42mm than i would like, 39 for the Tissot is perfect....

Tom Hanx, thanks for input, great watches. I want a stainless steel bracelet, sorry that did not come clearly in my first input.
But I must say, leather on divewatches seems a bit strange to me.

The Tissot is very nice, if you like it and you find a good price, you should go for it. Brands like Hamilton, Christopher Ward, Steinhart, etc, just seem to have very loyal followings on various forums (and for good reason, they are quality pieces), and offer multiple watches in your price range. Also, you specifically noted Swiss movement, but Seiko has some great pieces for well under $500 with a huge fan base.

Let us know what you decide!

I just placed an order for the Tissot Prs 516. Don't have it in hand yet, but it looks like an awesome watch!
