How long is your honey moon period?

It's been a month but i've let to stop obsessively polishing, timing the accuracy, changing straps, and pausing a few seconds longer when checking the time on my new watch.... When will it end? (not too soon i hope, as this will be my one and only watch for a while)

Been as short as 1 hour; been as long as.... well, still counting at 7 months with the VC.

Depends on the circumstances of how the watch came to me...if it was a gift from a loved on, I hold it in a higher regard than an impulse buy - irrespective of the value.

    +1

I tend to wear a watch for a week straight (my watches are all black face (excl omega)) and "miss" my other ones. So every week I create a honeymoon period. As for polishing/cleaning - do it whenever I am free (along with my shoes)

It's varied wildly, probably the longest periods spent with watches gifted by my dad. Think my latest purchase, the Zenith Elite 680 Automatic may outlast them all ...

    +1 for me as well.

I've been wearing my Mako (Christmas present from my wife) almost daily for the past two months...it's both a gift and my first new automatic, and because of those things I've grown really attached to wearing it. I'll eventually let up and start rotating watches more, but for now I'll keep babying this one.

Varies wildly. Today for example, I finally received a cool vintage mechanical I'd been waiting for. Unfortunately it does not work. Another vintage mechanical advertised as working and then apparently 'broken in the mail'. So that honeymoon lasted for about five seconds...
