for a moment the iwc da vinci was my grail, then the jlc duometre was my choice, then the iwc portuguese perpetual calendar or the UN dual time perpetual calendar 42mm or the iwc da vinci perpetual calendar; it appears to be a moving target.
whatever i settle on will be a rose gold perpetual calendar with a black dial, i think.

    Nope, not even close!

I actually have a few grails. One of them, the LE Oris 1945 flight timer is very hard to get, being that it was a limited edition released in 2005.

Others, like the 3573.50 Speedmaster is a money thing, but if I win a big poker tournament that can change pretty quickly, so I guess I can't really call that a "grail"

Then there is the A. Lange & Sohne's - that really is a money thing & I realistically don't see myself anywhere close to getting one of those.
Rolex GMT Master II BLNR "Batman"
    Omega Speedmaster Pro 3573.50
    Omega Seamaster Cosmic c.1968
    Oris Williams F1 Day/Date
    Oris LE 1945 Flight Timer
    Stowa Marine Original
    Stowa 2801 HW Flieger
    Longines Conquest Heritage
    Longines Grande Vitesse GMT Chrono
    Longines Hydroconquest Blue
    Longines 1972 Vintage
    Seiko SKX009
    Seiko SARB017 Alpinist
    Steinhart Ocean Vintage Military
Steinhart Ocean One Vintage Dual Time

Perhaps the question should be "a" grail rather than "the" grail. Not sure I'll ever have one and done. Anyway, I voted Yep! because I landed a Stowa MOLE this year. Given the relative rarity and high desirability of this watch, I didn't think I'd ever actually find one to purchase.

Re: How Many People Have Bought Their Grail?

Posted this a few times already - got my VC this year. It was my modern grail. All the pics you'd ever want to see are in this thread in the new High End Watch Forum:

    https://forums.watchuseek.com/showthread.php?t=323267

Picked up a couple vintage grails that I had been searching for the perfect examples of for quite some time:

    1966 Constellation 14K caliber 564 pie pan

1960 Conquest 18K caliber 291 with the date at 12

As a vintage collector, each brand has a grail for me. I have a JLC reference #2285 caliber 883 coming back from factory restoration as we speak, and I'd love a Rolex reference 1803 (Day/Date President) or 1011 (arrowhead indices) one day.

My grail is merely an Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean. IWC portuguese comes close, but i like the Seamaster more. I fear that when I do get the Seamaster, instead of finding another grail, i'll just keep getting more of them

No, sir, that would be "monster" preceded by either orange or black.
