How Many People Have Bought Their Grail?

A quick search of the forum turns up nothing, so I am curious to ask. Of all the people who have set and defined their grail, how many own it? I most certainly do not.

Well considering my grail would probably be the JLC duometre.... I would say that is very very far away, especailly since I'm still in university.

Didnt really have a grail as such - but after buying my DSSD - I no longer want to buy another watch - thinking of selling off my others - might even become a one watch guy - this is the grail I didnt know I was looking for

Of course, in time, something else might appear but for the time being, I am truly content with this one

Funny part about finally getting the watch u seek *snicker* is that you are kind of consumed by that watch for a long time. I took a nice long forum breather post-Speedmaster.

...problem is...once you have a grail..you want two grails.

Yep, that's the problem. No one stops at their first grail. A while after you get it you start lusting after something else, so just like the legend, you never really get THE grail.

I've never really had a grail. There are lots of watches out there that I like, but none that would be the 'one and only'. Manufacturers come closer to being a grail than specific watches. I've always wanted watches from Omega, Breitling, IWC and Sinn - which I now have. I'm actually kind of struggling about where to go next, but probably my remaining 'grail' manufacturers are UN, Lange and JLC. Ask me today and I'll tell you which watches from these companies will be my next. Ask me tomorrow and I'll have different brands in mind. But I do tend to end up with watches from companies I admire, so a UN will probably be next. For many people I think the next watch is the grail, no matter how many grails you've already gone through.

Before I bought my TAG, it had always been my grail watch for many years (probably from age 12-13 to now at 17). After buying it I swore itd be the last for awhile...

I now want a ML, dunno why but I would like to try their product out

However my grail would be a patek, too many attractive models to list but at some point in my lifetime I have to buy one...(even if it means when Im old and decrepit Ill live my final days homeless sleeping in a rust-bucket car with a rather exquisite watch on my wrist)
