I did ask once about my iwc spitfire and the answer was "not too many" . I was surprised that even w the serial number they could only just give me an estimate as to when the watch was produced. I expected the Swiss to be more on top of inventory and tracking especially on a modern watch ...
The world I live in daily is so regulated that maybe I just have expectations that aren't in line w the watch industry .
Their highest peak during the Kern management was of 100000 timepieces, but they have drastically reduced their line of watches and you don't see many IWC as much as you see Cartier, Breitling, Omega and Rolex which are the 4 most sold brands worldwide.
