How to sell a Rolex 3525

    Hello all,
I'm wondering how best to sell a Rolex 3525 in vgc with a genuine and unique dial - there is no other on a 3525.
Obviously i'd want the highest price for it..
Should I go the Sotheby's/Christie's route or an alternative? I have a valuation from 5 years ago, can only guess it's increased as it's not been worn since.
I think the auction house route has biggest exposure to high end clients but they would also have the highest fee's..
Not really sure what to do..
Please no offers on here, i'm just after advice..

    Thanks,

    You have pics?

    If not, define ‘unique’

That’s a solid question. Auction houses will take a good cut of the proceeds, so you have to bear that in mind. There are vintage watch collectors/dealers that could potentially set you up with a high end buyer and their commission would probably be less. Little research re: cost to sell by either method would be my first step.

Apparently Bob's Watches is looking for one to sell:

If you live anywhere near a real vintage dealer, you should probably bring it over and consult with them. They may have a client list with some collectors looking for such a piece, then the vintage dealer could broker it for a lot less than the ~15%+ of an auction house. The price on such a piece is really a big question, but if you do enough research you could probably establish a valid range and determine your acceptable net value to you.

Not a piece to be sending in the mail or letting some hack open up to have a look at, though.
