    Hypnotized by hobnail

Walked into a Panerai AD today and tried on the Radiomir PAM00628 and holy smokes the hobnail dial is amazing.

Are there any other watches in the 11k and under range anyone knows of that has hobnail dial and otherwise great watch?

I know several Panerais (mostly discontinued) and AP RO have that kind of dial...

GP Laureato. Comes in multiple sizes, and can be found for under 11k. The two-tone below is my ref 3010 from 1994. The blue is the new model.

How “great” does the watch need to be? I ask because the Maurice Lacroix Akon offers a Clos de Paris dial for way under the $11k budget.

Not quite a hobnail or Clous de Paris pattern, but has a similar look. The hobnail pattern requires it to have little pyramid shapes cut into the dial, where the Lorier has flat topped shapes.

Thanks for the info. I guess the Lorier is more of a waffle dial. Still, I like the look....
