I belong to the group of....

I'm curious and I'm sure it is not just me.
Please be honest to yourself. The votes are not public.

Is it possible to put a 3rd option of a bit of both?

It's easier for me to collect by brand. It provides a theme for the collection, directs the next purchase, adds to my knowledge about the history of the brand, yadda yadda...

I'm not yet at the point where I can be a brand buyer. If I get a watch, it has to fulfill a specific need and function. If it does that well, then brand doesn't really matter.

I see your point, but I wouldnt buy a super high end watch unless it was a well established brand. At the same time, you take something like a submariner which comes from perhaps the most prestigious watch brand in the world (to the general public), which is an amazing watch, but I have no desire to have.

EDIT: I would rather have a less complicated JLC than a highly complex, top end Seiko, so I guess that makes me a brand buyer?

At the moment any one brand I own is outnumbered by at least 5:1 by my other watch brands. I prefer unfocussed variety to what would be, to me, restrictive concentration.

Yes. Since an inexpensive, well featured, reliable and (depending on the model) attractive Casio will perform most of the functions we need, then not buying one in favour of another brand arguably makes us Brand buyers.

This is a poll that really requires people to stop and think before clicking their option. And be devastatingly honest, as the OP suggested.
