    Picture I couldn't help myself ... :P

I found an El Primero I'd been searching for a fair while on the 'bay. The price was just too good to pass up on - thought I'd wait till 2011 for another, but that didn't transpire

Anyway, it is a ref. 20.0140.400 from the late '90s in not too shabby a condition - well, there are some score marks on the case, and might have the crystal replaced when I send it in for a service. I had the strap replaced, but kept the original tang and buckle. It is a bit thicker than my Class 4, but wears just as comfortably on the wrist - they're both 38mm in dia.

I might have gone a bit overboard with the image processing, but it's cool to try out new stuff

I really like the case and lugs on this one, and the yellow gold gives it a bit of pizzaz IMO ...

A couple of wrist shots ...

And finally - the two El Primeros together ...

A classic dial. Is the case solid or plated?

It's plated, Dennis. Solid gold would have been so much nicer, but I suspect I wouldn't have been able to afford it in that case ...

Yeah, you can say that. You went waaaaay overboard. As i saw it, I first thought, oh, shame about that dial, hopefully it can be cleaned up.

the date window is very nice, similar to the Omega Aqua Terra--two examples for me where the date window is done well. If it weren't there, my suspicion is I wouldn't miss it, which is still pretty high praise.

It's a very handsome watch. Congrats.

If it looks half so good on the wrist in real life as it does in that picture, you scored an awesome piece of watch.
