    I did it again.

Most of you know about my "huge FAIL!" last month when I bought the BP Villeret after swearing I was going to buy a Breguet. Well, the Watch Gods are conspiring to make me eat my words again. A friend, fellow mod, and professional enabler from another forum told me about a new JLC ultra-thin last week. I fell in lust with it and posted about it here:

    https://forums.watchuseek.com/f2/dont...le-511805.html

Raza called it though - I got distracted again... but man, is it in grand fashion:

Can you blame me though? Both the keepers in that thread are once or twice a decade find if that. It was another member/enabler who called me today about that Seamaster. It doesn't take much arm twisting to get me to go the vintage route over modern.

    I knew it.

    EDIT: Beautiful failure.

EDIT 2: Mine was the second post! You didn't even last a week!

SUCH a pathetic failure..... Really. Just send them to me (along with those other horrid things) and youll feel better about yourself.

Ok. Enough joking. Those are too amazing for joking..... Congrats!
    Cheers,
    Mike

So I'm sure this means you are completely finished with your watch acquisitions, now that you found exactly your heart's desire? hmmm?
    Congrats!
Too many watches, not enough wrists.

Hate to say it but I told you so. I have to admit, though, that I don't know anyone who always fails so beautifully.

Therefore I would like to congratulate you on your fail, ULF! Some day I would like to do that on your success, as well.

A glorious fail of epic proportions. Very happy for you, Dennis.

See, they have medication that tempers behavior like this, but that’s just the problem. Your long dreary march towards that Breguet would have deprived you of all this spontaneous fun (and us of any number of zany promises followed by the inevitably joyful “failures”).

    Re: I did it again.

Thanks guys! I'm about a week away from the AP, and a few more for the pie pan.

    Yep, I'm weak.

    ...and nice try.

Yes, I am.... for as long as it takes me to scrape together some cash for the next acquisition. The coffers are in the red right now though so it may be a while.

Yeah, yeah. You can keep "I told you so"-ing me as long as I keep failing like this.

The problem now is what do I do for an encore? Vintage Omega-wise, it doesn't get much better.

It wouldn't be a bad idea... then I could justify any watch purchase by saying "but honey, I was off my meds!".
