Thumbs Down I hate dials detailing every real watch feature or supposed property

I like something simple like brand, and maybe just one particularity if it is really unique. Model, movement, materials, "made in"... belong to the case back.

I hate meaningless and superfluous sentences like Rolex "Oyster Perpetual, Superlative Chronometer, Officially Certified Cosmograph" and Casio policy of detailing EVERYTHING.

There are some good watches I would feel stupid every time I read them. It is cheap marketing, and it makes fine watches look cheap.

US customers have to love dials full of specs. Same model, one for the Asian market, made in Japan. The other for the US market, made in China. 2 lines vs 4 lines.

The "Superlative Chronometer" label is one of the main reasons I haven't purchased a white Explorer II...it's akin to having "The Ultimate Driving Machine" plastered/stickered on a Bimmer...

    The Rolex is hideous.
The Casio is fine as it has no pretensions at all unlike the Rolex.

Really? I'm a US customer and I dislike busy wordy dials on most watches.

I must have been mistaken all this time in thinking that WUS was for WISs who loved watches. Would you tell a man to his face that his wife is ugly?

I hate dials with too much writing on too. That is what casebacks are for.

Yes. The watch company name is all that is needed. Jewel count, depth rating, chronometer status, automatic, handwinding, whether it is "Professional", etc., etc., belongs on the back or in the owners manual.
