I have a dream... The traveling watch

So on another forum Im on, theres a few threads about traveling items. The premise is that someone acquires an item that would be cool to have travel around. He takes pics with said item, possibly modifies it some, then sends it on its way to the next guy who does the same and so on.

After a time, it makes its way back to the original guy, now with a hell of a story.

For example, there was a helmet that was passed, hand to hand, thru various states. People would add stickers, paint, whatever they felt and would take pics riding with it and the hand off. Another was a motorcycle part that ended up engraved and patina-ed from use and went around the world.

Has anyone ever done something like that to a watch? If not, I think Id like to at some point.

Given that this is a big forum, with people from all over, I understand that this is something that has risk involved (ie: theft/damage of watch etc) and it would probably be an affordable (unless someone wants to donate a Breiling ....lol) just to keep risk down.

    Ideas? Thoughts?

Here's a Seiko that's going around, I currently have it at the moment but will be sending it off to the next lucky recipient soon. No modding going on, but it's been to some interesting places.

I was #9 on that list with the Seiko Diver. It was fun to play. I'd do it again anytime!

Nick Hacko did that with a Davosa. No modding but it was sent around with that premise. I think he's recently stopped it due to having issues with the manufacturer.

If you start one I'll be happy to contribute ;)
