    I need a watch!

    Hello all!

I need to quench my new watch thirst and pretty soon. I am planning to get myself a another birthday gift to myself in the way of a watch next year (For my 26th) and that will be a big one.
However, untill then, I feel the need to aquire a new one.
I am after a simple dress watch for under £1000 (I have already searched the forums, and none were going in a way I wanted)
I dont have any models I have liked to give you an idea, so this is completely open to peoples suggestions.

    It must be;

    • automatic/manual
    • Swiss made/Movement (If possible, I know this is asking a lot and I will be suprised if there are any)
    • around 42mm
    • Have a date indicator
    • Any Strap type

I am not lazy.... I have searched a lot, but to be honest I do not know what I am looking for in a sub £1000 category when after a respectable, well made timepiece, so I ask the experts on here :)
(I know this is a topic that comes up all the time, apologies. I do not want to drag up an old topic with 50+ pages with nothing of use to me)

    Thanks in advance!

    Andy

Hamilton. Tissot. Certina. Christopher Ward. Plenty of options unless you have a specific style in mind that isn't covered by these ranges? Perhaps you should share your preferences and let us know what you are really looking for?

    Re: I need a watch!

The most appealing one I have found so far is the FC Classics....

Simple, classic and automatic. I am not so knowledgeable on FC as a brand though? Any input?

Andy, have a look at Chris Ward and Tissot to see what they have for you.

If you fancy something a little different and German, I like the look of the Schaumburg Purist. 1000.00 euros so well under budget plus they throw in a watch winder.

My choice would be the new Christopher ward C60 Trident 600

I know it does not exactly meet your requirements but this one is definitely something to consider

its sub £1000 and Swiss Made 41.5mm (slightly smaller than what you want) but a great watch all the same.
