I will buy one of these explorer type watches.

Lately I've been on the hunt for a watch similar to the 39mm explorer I
I don't really mind if it has a 369 dial, date or no date, but I'd prefer it to be 38-40mm with an automatic movement and screw down crown in the sub $2k budget. I've seen most of the other threads that recommend rail masters and other Aqua Terra's, tudor Rangers, mk II vantage, epos, Sarbs, etc. Any other recommendations? Thanks!

At the $2K price point, the obvious choice is a Sinn 856 tegimented on bracelet.

My choice would be either the Ball Engineer Ohio II...

    Or their new Marvelight...

Both well under 2k, excellent finish, bracelet is IMO one of the best in the business. Solid ETA movements.

Not to be a jerk, but I can't imagine you're going to get anything different that hasn't already been suggested in one of the numerous other threads like this. I believe all of the watches suggested above were in the other "Explorer alternative" thread that is still on the first page of f2...
