Really nice! And thanks for being the only person so far to venture an answer.

I never buy automatic watches, only hand wound, but I'm curious - what's the point of having seven days of power on an automatic watch?

My choice would be Dornblueth and Sohn 99.4. Someday, maybe...

no problem...i think it's a fun question. it's probably been asked alot...but i never get tired of answering b/c peoples' tastes change.

as to the 7 day power reserve...probably just so that people can see how long it takes before one has to wear the watch again before it loses power and stops.people need a comfort zone, i think, and don't want to guess. it's pretty convenient.

btw, i remember that you're on the stowa marine romans waitlist. are you still on it?

Well thanks, that's very nice of you to say! And I have to give the majority of the credit right back to WUS -- even though these sorts of threads crop up somewhat regularly, a different batch of watches appears each time which ultimately helps people get new ideas and find what they're looking for.

I like the versatility of a diver and since money is no object...

    Omega PO
    Seiko MM Spring Drive
    Rolex SD DeepSea

    UPDATE:
I forgot to mention.... As soon as money becomes a factor in this particular equation, the Rolex drops off the list. Clearly I'd love it, but at its expected price point, it's long since past my own personal point of diminishing marginal returns.
