For the longest time I swore I'd never own a pilot watch due to the fact that I never liked the look of the hands. Then along came an Alpina Startimer. I did a search on images for this watch and the sun ray dial made it a must have. Now I'm on the hunt for the chronograph. I've become a huge Alpina fan. I'll also be picking up the Alpina Nightlife automatic down the road. Are there styles of watches you used to really dislike but ended up falling for the look?
I think it was my first one from a long time ago. I used to own an Extreme diver which had a great build, look and movement. Then I bought the GMT and realized that Alpina was for real. It's such a solid watch.
I'm a fan of Alpina too, have owned a few, love the pilot models as well but I think they're a copy of IWC :
