Inherited this Gallet Medigraph? Please educate me!

    Hello and Happy Holidays!

I was given my grandfathers personal item collection for my b-day yesterday and I found this within its contents. I can tell it is a Gallet Multichron and it looks like a version of the Medigraph line. I know nothing about watches, but am fascinated at the world that I have just discovered! I am looking for any information on the watch itself and how I should go about having it serviced for proper operation. It winds and seems to move freely, but it does not begin to move and record time. Thank you in advance!!

As I'm sure you'll hear sooner than later, I would start with Google and go from there. It can be hard to find info on the forums for some vintage pieces.

I have been looking through google images since last night and have yet to find an exact match, still looking though!

I did however look closer, much closer than I did before, and was able to make out some of the numbers around the perimeter.

I can see on the outer edge that '60' is at the top and going up going counter clockwise in increments of 5 and near the 1'oclock position it goes 600,800,1000.
Also in the inner circle it has the word 'mile' and numbers clockwise from 1-12. Now I am thinking this was for racing of some sort, and my grandfather was a race car driver who had his own team so that would make a lot of sense!

    Thanks for the help!

Is that a telemeter scale (speed of sound: 1 mile for every approx 5 second)?
