Inquiry about movement upgrade. Watchmaker's advise needed.

So, I have a watch that houses either a Miyota 8015 or 8215.
As I have read a Miyota 9015 will not fit, for various reasons.
So, my question is, what decent movement of comparable quality to the 9015 can I get as a replacement?

The watch is the Spinnaker Dumas.
Love everything about the watch except the movement.

Here is a discussion about it. https://www.massdrop.com/buy/spinnak...tic-watch/talk

    Comparable?

    Clueless.

    Better or worse?

    Sure.

Something from either Chaux Fonds or Hangzhou.

Just confirm that it'll fit in your envelope.

    Bueno suerte!

Despite a few folks here that naysay the Miyota 8xxx, there's really very little wrong with it, it is a solid workhorse, and isn't worth replacing at the price point of the watch unless the movement is truly defective--learn to live with a quirky second hand, a lower beat rate and the non-hacking function--life will be easier.

Do you know of a make and model that I can search for?

If nothing can be done I'll have no choice but to learn to ignore these issues.

It just doesn't seem to be worth the effort and money. At all. Unless the money part is absolutely irrelevant to you.

You could end up spending several time what the watch was worth. Also, once done, it's a frankenwatch. Very difficult to sell.

Not sure where Spinnaker gets it from.. The watch came with it and with a pretty but useless stainless steel mesh.

    +1
I would just enjoy the watch as it is. Then look for another diver with all the right movement and design features. Plenty to choose from.
