    Insured shipping to the US?

I'm trying to send a fairly valuable classic watch from the Netherlands to the USA, and I would like to have it insured. Fedex and UPS both have a 500 Euro limit on jewellery etc, and TNT doesn't accept it at all.
    Any suggestions?
    Ron.

I have heard of folks shipping through FedEx and UPS, etc and then buying insurance from a 3rd party. I do not know if this is an option for you in the Netherlands.

    Here in Germany:

Post ValuePack (25.000,00 EUR) 43 Euro
    or
FedEx Pak (up to 5.000,00 EUR) for 55 Euro
    or
TNT Global Express + Transport insurance (2500,-- Euro)
You may chose for a higher insurance, contract has to be signed at your local TNT office (up to 25.000 Euro).

    Hi Mike,

thanks. Is that for shipping to the USA or within Germany or Europe?

Shipping to the US, don´t know what TNT will charge. My nephew works at TNT at Frankfurt/Main, so I probably never had to pay the full charge.

PostValuePack is DHL in Germany. DHL and Deutsche Post are under one hat.
