    International shipping

Ok everyone....little help here.....not sure if this is posted in the proper spot but need some help.

I have shipped to Canada, Sweden, England.....without a hitch.

I have never received an international shipment however...and I am thinking of buying a watch from the Phillipines.

will I have to pay customs/duties?

    Should I worry?

    Thanks in advance...

    Re: International shipping

Depends on how it's shipped. I just received a watch from the Philippines via EMS last month (I'm in Canada right now), and had to pay zero customs/duty charges. If it's shipped by Fedex/UPS, prepare to pay through the nose.

Another thing to mention, EMS is untraceable out of the Phillippines - tracking will only kick in once it enters the destination country.

I believe it all depends how the item is declared and who the carrier is. If declared correctly you would probably pay about 3% of declared value in duties.

    Re: International shipping

Hi Tony...my advise is if you are worried...do not pull the trigger :) US customs like other customs offices around the world are very hard to predict. I paid over $100 for customs duties on a Doxa I bought for my dad in the US. I paid $0 on a Breitling sent from the US to the Philippines last year ;) I find it very strange...but at any rate, if the deal doesn't sit with you correctly...don't pull it :)

    Caught red-handed! :)
Of course I am considering it because you are a good seller/buyer and I want the watch badly....unfortunately I am a bit worried. Not at all an issue of trust just so you know.
    I will decide soon :)

    Re: International shipping

Look at it this way. Here you've got a trusted knowledgeable seller, where as I purchased my last watch out of the Phillippines from a seller who is known for selling Seiko parts mainly (ie. sales under $200), and conversed in broken English (not that this was a problem, but it deffinitely added some fun to the purchase :) ). Anyways the initial "untraceable" time was a bit of a nail-biter, but it all worked out in the end; the watch is fantastic and I got it for a right steal of a deal - all because I took the risk.

Maybe that'll add some piece of mind for you.
