    Introductions

Hey All, I finally signed up so I could post on the forums. This site has been useful as I've learned more about watches over the past few years.

Just recently bought my second watch, a Nomos Orion reference 384. Really loving it:

I was looking for something at a price point I could afford; very simple, clean, and elegant yet with a sense of fun and not overly serious. The Nomos ticked all those boxes for me.

This is my second mechanical watch. About a year ago, I jumped in with a Hamilton Pan Europ which I also really love. So now I have the Nomos as a more dressed up option, and the Hamilton on its NATO strap for the sporty-fun-casual option:

Thanks! Can't believe how hard and fast I've fallen in love with watches.

That Pan Europ is a great reminder of Hamilton's heritage as an American watchmaker with deep ties to the US military, the railroads, and Hollywood, and also an ironic reminder of Hamilton's decision to move to Switzerland in 1969-70 (fact check please). Overall, I think Swatch does a great job celebrating Hamilton's legacy.
The Nomos and the Hammy make a pretty ideal two-watch collection.
Looking forward to seeing what your third acquisition is going to be.

    Thanks! I agree!

Third acquisition....well, in my world, these things take time, so going to be spending more on this site to get a feel for that. Of course, growing up, I was smitten by Rolexes, but in all honesty that had more to do with just knowing they were a somewhat of a well-known status symbol, so there's the romantic attraction to them. As I've reached my mid-40s I rather more like the idea of going the route of something lesser-known but still respected by watch folks, so lots of routes to explore.

Open to suggestions, and I love to surf the web for watches, so anyone reading this, feel free to add your two cents!
