Off Topic post I've DECIDED! No longer torn...

First off, HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!!

Ok please keep in mind that to ME this is not necessarily a Baume et Mercier vs Longines thread.

This is about watch DESIGN more than anything else and I am really torn between these two.

For the past 2 weeks I have been itching to pull the trigger! The design elements I'm after:

    - white/silver dial
    - blue hands
    - around 40mm
    - classic/vintage/retro
    - works well with either a black or brown leather NATO
    - not a simple three hander

Here is how I view these two:

    - both brands are equal
    - price here is almost the same
    - complication wise, it doesn't bother me at all that though equally priced, one is a bi-compax chrono and the other having a subdial second
    - I will only get one (I limit my collection to 20 and will not 'eventually' buy the other)
    - both look REALLY good to me, thus the dilemma.

Please vote and give your views. Option 3 is only if you can suggest a strong contender for these two. In the end of course I'll make my own decision but I'm really interested how the rest of the WUS world sees this. Thanks!

I really do not like the way the numerals are cut off by the Longines complications, so I choose the Baume.

Baume for me since I am no fan of cut off numerals but the Longines is pretty in its own rights

I don't know....I'm on the fence. I agree with the above posters, the numbers being cut off on the Longines doesn't sit right. But. ...the sub dial on the Baume doesn't seem to fit with the design for me. Not sure why. I'd probably go with the Baume in this case if I were to choose between the two.

Check out the Zenith Elite line, though they don't have the blued hands, some do have blued seconds, and I think they are probably better all around watches than the two mentioned.

Too different styles. If I had to pick one though it would be the Longines, but like others I don't like the cut numbers. B&M has a nice capeland with blue dials, although it's pretty busy. The new B&M Clifton coming out in 2016 is damn sexy though. https://monochrome-watches.com/pre-s...r-specs-price/

Cut off indices and numerals is a design disaster. I prefer blue hands with white (not silver) dial more than anything else. Very classy and flexible strap upgrades.
