IWC Portuguese Auto or Dornblueth?

Most of my watches are tool watches, divers or Fliegers. but for a long while I've been jonesing for either of these, and since I can't seem to make my mind up about anything these days, I certainly can't decide on this. So please, what would you get and why? For me it would be either the 99.1 Dorn or the IWC with blued hands and Arabics. I like that the Dorn is made by a small company and is fairly unique. On the other hand, I own three IWC's and really enjoy them.

What's a dude to do?

IWC is nice enough, but it's just another commoditised luxury item from LVMH or Swatch or whoever is churning them out these days.

I've read a thread on the German watches sub-forum in which a member wanted to customize his watch with a power reserve subdial and a date subdial (without a seconds display), and Dirk replied him saying that it was possible. Hard to get that kind of service with any conglomerate owned "big name" watch company ...

if not i'd ask dirk for something similar and perhaps manual wind.

this looks close with a little customization and a different strap also no lume.

the IWC has a date. if that is important than i would go with that. the dornbleuth power reserve is gorgeous and would have more meaning.

I am a big IWC fan but Dornblueth might just get my vote depending on what I am looking for.

Is there any online retailers that sells Dornblueth? I just want to check out the price lists for their watches.

Thanks guys, ultimately it's up to me. I'm going to keep my eyes open and see what surfaces. I'd purchase either of these used and I know the Dorn's don't come up all that often, but that's fine. The hunt is fun too.

Price isn't as bad as I expected, it is definitely a good and cheaper alternative. Very tough choice, looking at the pics side to side, both has their distinct look but detail-wsie and visually, I think the IWC Port Chrono wins. I love the raised numerals, the slanted wall in the edge of the dial, the polished bezel and brushed case combo, the balanced chrono and second circles in the dial, the minute dots, etc... All that details and still look real simple and elegant, you really can't beat that. So if you can afford to go for the Port Chrono,
