James Bond Watch Sold For £100,000

A Brietling Top Time worn by James Bond in the film Thunderball has been sold at Christie's for £100,000. It was the first watch modified by Q's team and was used underwater when looking for
stolen atomic weapons. Originally manufactured by Brietling in 1962 it was the only one modified in this way and "vanished" from Pinewood studios after the film was made.
It was subsequently bought at a car boot sale for £25.

Quite a find for a car boot sale if it's the real one. I wouldn't bet on it, though.

    From the catalog:

Lot NotesThe first ever specially modified watch issued by 'Q' branch to James Bond, the timepiece was equipped with a 'Geiger-counter' to detect radiation. Equipping Bond 'in the field' in Nassau for his mission to find two NATO atomic bombs stolen by SPECTRE, Q explains here we have a Geiger counter, useful and unobstructive, the sweep hand takes the radioactive count, it's waterproof of course, to which Bond sarcastically responds, but of course. Besides the Rolex Submariner, the Breitling Top Time is the only other model of watch that Sean Connery wears as James Bond.

My prediction for Basel 2014 -- moonphase GMT tourbillon with geiger counter.

Christie's is pretty good about authenticating and cataloguing their pieces.

All kidding aside...I remember reading something about a company making a geiger counter wrist watch.

    Here it is.

I wanna know where Albert R Broccoli's Rolex Submariner that Sean Connery wore, is. Does Connery still own it? Does the Broccoli family own it? That's what I'd be real interested to find out about.
