Junghans Radio-Controlled... how cool is that thing?!

Someone mentioned the brand in another thread, which obviously sent me googling.

As soon as I saw the pictures for the first one, I thought it to be a very nice combination of sporty and classical look that can be dressed up or down, and the digital window gives it a touch of uniqueness, not to mention the day/date/chrono functions without over clattering the face. At 41.5 mm the size is just right too.

there are few other cool watches there.

Opinions, please. Movement, looks, value, etc.

Both of the below are radio controlled in US, EU and JP, and both run on quartz J615.97, which apparently is used in replicas.

    Tons of functions for $950.

To each his own, and I know this line gets a lot of love, but to me it comes off as a jack of all trades, master of none - I find my atomic G-Shock to have more functions, look much cooler, and costs a fraction of what this does.

But, I'm not a stuffed shirt, the likes of which won't be caught in something as childish as a ridiculously capable G.

The second one reminds me of numerous Seiko, Citizen, Armitron and Casio ana/digi watches. I am not a big fan of the ana/digi design after having owned 3 because the design ends up being a compromise.

Junghans does have several full digital display RC watches that are very attractive with a modern slightly edgy design.

Size: 9.1 KBI have been contemplating buying the Junghans Force 018/1131.00 for some time, but am uncertain about the aesthetics/comfort. I would appreciate views, in particular from owners.

So, all i got so far is "not my cup of tea". Nice. Not a word about the company or the movement.

I have a Junghans radio controlled pilot watch as well as a Max Bill Chronoscope automatic chrono. Also a number of radio controlled clocks around the house. None of them has ever given me problems.

Junghans is an old company (est. 1861 in Germany) that like many others had gone through difficult times then has come back. Today it is sufficiently well reputed and manufactures a line of radio controlled watches of unusual shape. If one likes them or not it's personal taste.
I suggest that you go and have a look in the German Watches section to find more info.

Yeah. Those are really sweet looking watches. I'd consider one if I were shopping at that price point.
