So I've been a member of WUS for quite a while now and, while I haven't been the most active member I think I've been involved in a lot and certainly learned quite a bit. I originally joined with the purely selfish reasons of trying to unload a watch that an ex had gifted me and what I found was a community and a hobby that would consume a lot of time and disposable income in the subsequent 4 years.
My watch passion really started on my 18th birthday when my parents gifted me a quartz Tag, I loved it and wore it all through college. Once I graduated is when this hobby went into overdrive. With my new job I treated myself to not one but two "graduation" presents, a used Omega SMP and a Frederique Constant, in addition to the Stowa that was my grad present from my parents. Since then, I've accumulated more, some have been keepers like my Nomos, some have not, like my SeaGull 1963 or the recently departed RGM.
Overall, Im getting very satisfied with my collection. I've been fortunate to procure a watch box from Rainer Schuster which has led me to a mental limit of 8 watches. As I get close to hitting that point I'll be swapping and upgrading some of the pieces, others will stay for a long time.
Here they are in order of purchase:
Tag Quartz Aquaracer - Now worn by the lady and not in the watchbox
Omega SMP 2531.80
Frederique Constant - Big Date / Dual Time
Stowa Marine Auto
I decided it was time to treat the lady to a Frederique Constant, she wanted a gold watch. - also not in the watchbox.
Cartier Santos Carree
Longines Spirit Chrono
As is tradition. I'll be doing a random giveaway of something watch related. The first 20 responses will be randomly drawn for a prize!
