just got my first automatic, should i keep the Seiko SKX007?

Ive always been a g shock fan and have always worn a gw9400 rangeman. but recently its been hurting my wrist when my wrist swells during physical activity and when i loosen it its pretty loose but usually it fits alright. and i still love it but wanted to try something different. so i went looking around and it came down to a g shock gwm5610 or the Seiko skx007. Ive read that both are comfortable but the gwm5610 has a resin band keeper that Ive read rips. so i decided to give the Seiko a try. i bought a black NATO band on amazon and its comfortable but now im not sure if i should keep it. im in the navy and i do a lot of body boarding in Hawaii and a lot of running and weightlifting, just a lot of physical activity in general and put my rangeman hell. Do you guys think that the Seiko will hold up or should i just get the gwm5610? if i keep it it will be rotated with my rangeman. its just feels perfect on my wrist with a NATO strap so im stuck at a crossroads....

I’d keep it, they’re built pretty tough. I’ve done all those activities before with an automatic watch (in hindsight it was cheaper than the 007) and nothing happened to them

Keep the seiko, ive a mate whos an arborist using chainsaws and chippers every day, hes worn a 007 for two decades and its fine and are made for the type of stuff youre doing, you wont be the first bloke in the armed services to wear a SKX, people wore mechanicals to war including seikos, your little SXK will be fine.

Used it with chainsaws?! Must be more robust than I thought. I guess I’ll keep it, it’s gonna go everywhere with me just like my rangeman. And thanks for your responses! These forums are so active, I love it!

Do you really need the $100-$150 bucks? Keep it!

There is only one answer to your question - keep it.
And if you decide to buy a g-shock someday in the future, skx will be your watch for normal activities.

Keep it if you can, if not "Someway, Somehow" you will be chasing one eventually, it's just a matter of time ...
I sold (2) SKX007 to fund other watches and I'm always looking for one at a good price.

Amazon and jomashop have really good prices on it. At one point it got below $170.
