Just showing off my new watch

I exchanged my longines automatic women's watch for this quartz Tag. I know Tag's are overpriced, but I
did not like having to reset the time on the longines. You don't wear it one day and you have to reset the time.
I don't like that. Maybe in the future I'll get one, but it's not for me right now.

Really elegant piece! The shaped lugs look kind of aqua terra'esque. The WIS's here have a heavy preference for mechanicals here,

Beautiful watch. I've always been a fan of the Carrera line by Tag. Wear it in good health.
    Current Collection:
    Omega - Planet Ocean 2500
Steinhart - Ocean 1 Vintage Red
    Stowa
    -
    Antea KS Small Second
Tag Heuer - Carrera Twin Time

Automatics can certainly be a bit inconvenient if they don't suit your wearing habits. The Carrera looks great!

I think it's a beautiful piece. I had the same issue when getting a watch for my wife. Automatics just weren't her thing either...I even offered to wear it for her on the days she didn't (of course hidden under my cuff...the look of tapered bracelets don't seem to work well on my wrist). :)

They're not the same as the ones on the Omega.
Whereas on the Omega, the lugs kinda twist and form a curve, the Heuer Carrera lugs (Heuer only as well, the watch was designed and released in the tail end of 1963) are pretty much straight cut on all sides.
It looks like they're curved in the photo, most probably because of lens distortion.

They are kinda similar in which surfaces are "cut" but you can see how they compare better here:

The biggest difference is that on the Planet Ocean (and AT), the surface curves in from the side of the watch case.
On the Carrera, the plane is a simple cut from the top of the watch head and matches the angle of the bezel
(if that makes any sense at all...)

Very similar but very different, especially on the wrist.
