    Lack of impulse control!

    Hi guys,
I've been posting here for not too long, but lurking for quiet a while. Just wanted to share that I just bought my first automatic (have two quartz watches already and loving those), a Seiko SKX009K (I can already hear a tuna whispering my name).

Never thought this would be the first automatic I'd own, in fact the first time I saw a SKX007/009 I wasn't impressed at all and ignored it, but the more it appeared in WRUW and the more I looked at it, the more I liked this watch. Then I came across one for sale on Amazon and figured WTH and bought it. It came with a rubber strap, but I've done some digging on the forums here and ordered a nato from Nato Strap Co (so far very happy with the quality and the free shipping, which was executed very quickly).

Anyway, just wanted to say thanks to the community here for pouring oil down the slope for me and throwing a few banana peals as well. This is the first, but it's certainly not the last, I'm hoping to pick-up a Montblanc Star Quantieme Complet and a Junghans Max Bill Chronoscope this year as well. Hopefully I'll be able to resist anything further, but like I've already said a tuna is calling to me and the same goes for a Steinhart MCII or Stowa MO.

Welcome to the forum but..., WHOA!!!

Let's reign it in a little bit there buddy. Slow down, take your time and enjoy each purchase. They should be well thought out (not that these aren't) or you'll end up flipping and losing your shirt.

Enjoy, just don't go all Rambo on us!

The 009 does look nice doesn't it? It's pointless trying to fight it just go with the flow. Like ILB says though make sure each one it the watch for you.

Congrats on the Seiko! It's just like Nokie said. I used to be in to guns and watches and I can tell you that i'm always looking for watches, while I haven't bought a gun in years. Let your quest for the perfect watch begin.
