Leather Strap, In Between Notches. Calling On All With Ideas!

OK, so I got this great leather strap ordered in. The perfect fit on my wrist is in between two notches, little particular I know this. Has anyone ever attempted to add notch? If so what technique did you use?

Anyone else ever have this experience or am I expecting to much? I am happy either way, just know I could be a little more happy. :thanks

I've added a hole at the end of the strap. I have a leather punch, and it was simple. I would imagine a phillips head and hammer would work too, though i wouldn't use that technique on a pricey strap.

There is a neat little punch, many arts and crafts shops have them, that has a small round sharp edged tip, that when you tap it with a hammer, it makes a nice clean hole. However, you might have a problem because if you are that picky, the 'perfect' hole may be closer to another hole and weaken the strap. On el cheapo belts i used a nail and hammer but the punch is better. I would try it but make the hole in the middle so as to keep the strength. JMHO

Thanks. It is not a cheap strap, better leaving well enough alone I suppose. Maybe I will punish through wearing it on the tighter notch and it will stretch out a little????

B efore I go to bed, I had another thought. I had a Panerai strap on my Homage and it was a little too small so I rubbed a leather treatment( mine is from Harley Davidson) into it for several days and they gave it to my partner to twist and stretch it which she did over a period of several days(intermittently of course) and the strap fits perfectly now. Of course I had to give her a foot massage, but hey we all make sacrifices!

Thank you, though I do not think this is an option for me. What about just stretching the notch a little larger on the one that is a little tighter fit?

I have a hole punch plier that I got from Ofrei which I have used on several occasions to punch an extra hole between two adjacent strap holes. I generally don't put enough stress on my watch straps to tear the leather at least it hasn't been a problem yet.

That's why the no-hole deployants are nice, you can make them the exact length you want to.

Hey, leather will stretch so I'd normally wear it on the tighter hole for a few weeks and then after it's good.
