    left or right ?

i havent been here too long and im quite sure the question has been asked many times -but not in my time that i have seen -im just curious why others choose the left or right wrist to wear their watches -i have always worn a watch on the right and am completely disorientated with it on the left - i do see that usually the best bits are hidden from view when worn on that side -none the less

(for the people that wear on the right hand...)

    ..maybe they're left handed?

..maybe they don't want the crown to dig in to the wrist?

    ..maybe they're just strange

Left for me - use the right hand to adjust it... the way it should be

As a kiddie, I was taught to wear it on the non-dominant side so as to not get in the way of writing.
Given the rise of computers/smartphones/tablets since that time (i.e.. the Dark Ages) however, this may not be so important.

The general rule is to wear it one the arm that does less activity. I always assumed this was done in order to protect the watch.

If you're right handed, you wear it on your left. If you're left handed, you wear it on the right.

take your point but im righthanded - majority i guess of watches would be autos so the winding convenience doesnt apply - i think maybe 'the way it should be ' as you say should read 'the way it used to be ' before auto

me righty, left worn. Some of my watches - like 4 of them have SS bracelet - and am a desk diver, spent a lot time in office, I think, with writing, signing and moving your dominant hand while caring for bracelet or watch is kinda difficult and would be insane. Signing a purchase request by minding the bracelet or buckle would be tough:) Or i should buy every quarter another bracelet or polish weekly.
