    Licensed Logos & Watches

Couldn't really find anything in the forums, but what are people's thoughts on watches with team and college logos, etc.?

I know there's a company out there that adds logos to Tag and Movado but what about those cheaper team watches? A lot of the MLB licensed stuff is made by "Game Time", "Sparo" and "Suntime." Some claim to have "Japanese Quartz" movement.

    Anywho, thought I would ask.

You can find $1700 tag Carreras on amazon with several University logos. A waste of money and something very tacky in an otherwise nice watch.

I think this sort of thing belongs in cheap, disposable watches.

While I have fond memories of my college, high school and middle school years and I'm an ardent fan of the Washington Nationals I think their names, mascots and logos would just clutter up an otherwise good looking watch. The International Olympic Committee over the years has has hawked some pricey big name watches with a variety of Olympic doodads on the dial. They look cheesy and cheap to me. The Redskins have sold some cheap watches emblazoned with their logo that are well matched with collectible Jim Beam bottles.

Leave the logos and names on t-shirts, caps and wind breakers.

You're paying for that giant logo on the face, not the movement. If you need an extra piece of gameday apparel, go for it. Just don't expect a quality watch.

I think that Oris will produce specialist watches in bulk for customers. They did, after all, produce a batch for Saddam.

Not my cup of tea for modern watches and my own teams. However, I do have a 1980 Olympics watch by Poljot that I like a lot.
