    Limited choice for Ladies

Currently in San Juan and visited a great shop, they carry.. A Lange & Sonne, AP, Breguet, Channel, Girard Perrgaux, Harry Winston, IWC, JLC, Panerai, Ulysse Nardin, Vacheron and Zenith.

Unfortunately, I am looking for my wife and the ladies selection was dismal. We were offered a quartz ceramic Channel or a couple of gaudy over decorated eye sores. Several of these brands carry extensive range of watches for ladies, just not stocked.

I did suggest she go for a Panerai (then give it to me if she tired of the size) but no joy.

Next stop is St Thomas and a shop called Ah Riise, anyone been ?

    Re: Limited choice for Ladies

Most watch brands have relatively few women watch offerings when compared to the mens, though most brands do have a good number of them. I think ADs and boutiques just don't expect many women to come in. I rarely see a woman in an AD who is actually looking for a watch for herself. Usually she is there for repairs or looking for a watch for a man.

The few times I've been to the Caribbean I wasn't watch shopping so I know nothing about the shops.

But brands like Van Cleef & Arpels, Cartier, Chaumet, Longines, Bulgari have a nice selection of women's watches.

We are, however, getting to a point of parity where ladies can just wear men's watches. Sub, exp 1, DJ, etc. They all look so good both genders, so maybe one day there won't be "men's" or "woman's" watches. Aside from that, yeah, actual woman's watches; most major brands have a small selection.

Longines look after the ladies well with their Primaluna, Dolce Vita and Evidenza collection.

    And of coz, there's Cartier!

I was stared at like a loony today in a couple of shops for wanting a ladies automatic with decent (swimmable) WR. None of them stock such things... Seems the newest line of Longines Conquest watches have ditched auto for the ladies ones too.

Rado seems to be going in the opposite direction. A few years ago it was almost impossible to get a women's automatic other than the Original/ New Original, but now most of the women's models are available with autos. You have to like their style though.
