The longest you've been without a working watch?

I have worn a watch since I learned how to tell the time at 5 or 6 years of age.
My Grandfather was a trader in jewelry, watches and antiques, so always had a few watches to choose from when I managed to break one.
I was never without a watch while growing up untill I moved away from home.
I was at university, in my late teens and skint when I dropped and broke my only watch.
I had to go watchless for THREE whole weeks and can still vividly remember the trauma
I scraped together enough money and bought TWO watches.
There has never been a time since that I have not had at least two working watches and I'm much happier for it.
I suppose you could say that was the start of me having a "collection".

Anyone else experienced the trauma of going watchless for a period?

Can't remember being without a watch apart from before this time:
I remember way back in the mists of time sending off for my first(?) digital lcd from some cheap mail-order place in essex UK. I'd ordered it out of a newspaper ad I think. and it a lot of money ... £15 or £20 I think lol

It was back in seventies so digital was all new , think it was a no-name but I seem to remember it had stop watch with segments that lit up on periphery as it counted round?
It had so many features lol

Since I got into them properly about 18 months ago there hasn't been a day gone by where I've not worn a watch for the majority of it.

For a few days, back in the second Nixon administration, when the battery on my Accutron 218 died. I'll never forget those dark days.

My Grandfather gave me my first watch at 10 and I wore that until I was 17 when it was replaced by a Bulova GP Chrono. I wore that and a couple others until I was 26 when someone stole them; I got in the car and went to Kmart and bought a Tissot within 1 hour and have never been without. Now there are so many, I don't anticipate a problem again, ever.

I got my first watch when I was about 6.

Got a couple more when I was around 10 (including one of the first Seiko solars, this was 1981, and a Casio calculator watch).

Never been without at least one working watch since. That's just crazy-talk.

If my memory doesn't betray me, I've never been without a working watch for the last... 43 years; I'm 51.

Maybe since I was around 6 years old,it was a gift and it died when i accidentally splashed it when i was washing my hands
Since then,I have always had some time telling device on my wrist, the majority of them are the digital casio, until I got a Tag when I was around 12 and learned to read analog clock
    Should've stayed digital,so I won't need to know tag,rolex,panerai,jlc et al..

I have been without a working watch for 6 years and they were my first six years. Always have a back-up watch.

I started wearing them 12 years ago. Since then, I haven't gone more than 24 hours without a watch.
