    Longines ETA 2824-2 click sound

    Hi,
Recently I bought my first automatic watch. The watch is Longiens Conquest (ETA 2824-2) and is great.
But I have some concerns about sounds it generates.

Every time I rotate the watch so the rotor(??) make full revolution It makes click sound. Like metal object hit another metal object. And it is noticeable from a distance.
At beginning I thought that the bracelet is responsible for that. But I have excluded that.
Can someone, who has the same mechanism, confirm that this is a normal thing ?

I have attached a file with that sound recorded.

    Best regards

My 2824-2 doesn't make that sound at all. I'm holding the bracelet taut so nothing can wiggle, and the most noise that I hear from mine sounds like gears meshing in the winding mechanism.

Yours sounds like a big piece outside the case, like a bracelet link, but you say you've eliminated that possibility. Can you remove the bracelet, or did you try already?

I wonder if there's something else loose inside. Does the rotor rotate freely or does it have a sort of "hitch" in the same part of its rotation?

You should send it back for service or replacement under warranty.

I cannot remove bracelet myself. But I will go to watches shop and remove it there.
I think the rotor rotate freely but I'm not sure if power reserve is good.
How many times do I have to rotate/shake the watch to fully wind it?

Just wear the watch. Normal arm movement will move the rotor and wind the watch throughout the day.

Your 2824-2 shouldn't be clicking so invoke the warranty.

    Hi guys,
I got new watch. It does that too. So I think it is normal.
But I noticed something that bothers/worries me. Is it just me or the smaller hand gently falls (it is not parallel to dial)?

I think maybe you are worrying a little too much and looking for things to be wrong with your watch.

I have a different watch but the same 2824-2 movement and mine does not make any sound at all so, what you are hearing is not normal. Another item to check is the case back, make sure it is fully tightened (but not over tightened) and if that is not the case, send it in for warranty repair.

    Good luck!

Click sounds from an ETA 2824-2 are never normal - so use the warranty.

As for the hour hand (Peter.x above) it is not mounted properly. If it bothers you it needs sorting out.

Are Longines letting things slide a little?
