I have recently seen a very nice watch, namely the Longines "Flagship" Automatic chrono in 18ct pink gold.
The Longines model No. is L4.7126.96.36.199.
The watch looks stunning and I know that Longines are a very reputable watch company, however....
Are the movements any good?
Is the build quality any good?
In other words how do they compare against say Omega, Zenith or JLC?
A/ A very good value for money "bang for buck" quality watch?
B/ Cheaper because you get what you pay for and therefore one should expect a lesser quality build and movement?
I know they are part of the Swatch group as are Omega.
I know they use their cal 651 which is an ETA 2849/2 movement , modified for Longines.
I don't know if the ETA 2849/2 is a good high end or a low end movement
I don't want to buy a watch that is a nice looking gold watch but is inferior to others I could also afford if I sacrificed the gold
Image and brand are not as important as the quality and technical standards of the watch.
Any advice or suggestions welcome.
