Looking for a good watch winder

Hi everyone! I am new to this forum, so sorry if this has been answered before. But, I would like to pick up a good watch winder. I have never owned one. It seems all the watches I buy now are automatics. Hard to keep them all running. I don't have time to turn them all.

    Thanks for the help.

Check out the Primadyne Softwind watch winder. I have one and it is exceptionally quiet and easy to use. www.primadyne.com

Orbita is great quality, however they are expensive.

I would like to know about low end watch winders.
Does anyone have any experience with the cheaper stuff available on the net? What can go wrong with a 40 or 50 dollar winding box? I don't think that I'm ready to put much more than that into a watch winder, how bad are those things?

    Thanks

I bought one from here. Not bad. Next one I buy will probably be one of the cheapies on eBay. Watch winders have to be one of the highest price mark up items on Earth. Lot of hype that the cheapies will damage your watch. If it don't spin constantly or for too long and reverses direction, it will work fine.

Steinhausen do the job very nicely. My autos (see sig) have no problems in them.

    Check ebay.
Cheap, won't last forever but do the job.

Re: Looking for a good watch winder

I don't understand how a winding case can harm a watch that is designed to live on my wrist, which would seem to spin the balance any direction at any particular time, with no regards to how often how hard and how fast.

It doesn't make sense that an automatic has to be babied once it is off my writst.
Or should I only wear my automatic for 15 minutes a day and make sure that it is at a constant angle and does not overwind?

    Thanks
    Nate
