Looking to learn more about deck / observation watches like the Stowa Marine

I have fallen in love with the beautifully simple design of the Stowa Marine. The blued spade-style hands, muted silver or white face, simple black Arabic numerals, brushed case and onion crown all come together to create a very elegant and timeless design in my opinion. I would love to own a Stowa Marine Automatic, but just don't have the funds to make it happen right now. But I want to learn more. Are there other watches out there from other manufacturers that incorporate these types of design elements? Any information and/or photos would be much appreciated!

Thanks for the article. I like a lot of the design aspects of the Archimede deck watches. I'm not sure just yet how I feel about a hand wound movement though. Something I'd have to get used to.

Yeah, not everyone can handle the responsibility or pleasure involved with a hand-wind movement. It does fit the classic nature of the deck watches though.

This isn't quite what you're after - but you might enjoy reading it: Marine deck chronometers
