    Lug to Lug length "database"

I see many threads asking if this watch is too big, or if that watch is too small. I also see many threads and websites with advice on the perfect watch size. While the answer to that question is admittedly subjective, one thing that I have come to realize is that lug to lug length is one of the best indicators of how a watch will fit me. In my opinion, for my 7" wrist, the perfect lug to lug length is 48mm, with 50mm being the longest length that I think fits well. Anything under 43mm tends to look small on me. Using this standard, I have come to realize that a 44mm case with a 48mm lug to lug measurement can sometimes fit me better than a 42mm case with 52mm lug to lug measurements.

I looked for a thread or a website that maintains a list of lug to lug lengths for different manufacturers and I was not able to find anything even close to complete. That is when I thought it might be a good idea to have members list the case size and lug to lug measurements of their favorite watches, or their entire collections to benefit others and serve as a repository. I hope this will not devolve into a debate about the importance of lug to lug measurements. I would rather that it serve as a "database" that members can access for a quick reference on watches they are researching, or a place they can browse and find watches that are a good fit.

Anyway, here are my three favorite watches with their case sizes and lug to lug measurements:

Omega Speedmaster Pro: Case 42mm - Lug to Lug 48mm
Hamilton Khaki Mechanical: Case 38mm - Lug to Lug 48mm (some say 47.5mm)
Glycine Combat Sub: Case 42mm - Lug to Lug 46mm

Keep it going, you may see something posted you never thought would be a good fit for you!

Good idea for a thread and even better if somebody (too much hard work so not me) would collate everything and the mods turn it into a sticky.

Anyway here's mine taken with a plastic vernier caliper so I don't scratch the case. First time I actually measured some of my watches and a few of the results surprised me. Many of the watches listed are no longer in production but some may still find it useful for used watches.

    Omega
    AquaTerra 2503.50.00 - D 39.0, L2L 46.6
    PlanetOcean 2201.50.00 - D 42.1, L2L 47.4

    Rolex
    GMT-II 16710LN - D 40.0 L2L 48.2
    Explorer 1 214270 - D 39.0 L2L 47.3

    Seiko
    SARB033 - D 38.0 L2L 44.4
    Alpinist SARB017 - D 39.0 L2L 46.0
    SARG007 - D 41.0 L2L 48.8
    Shogun SBDC007 - D 43.3 L2L 50.5
    MM300 SBDX017 - D 43.9 L2L 50.2
    SKX007 - D 42.3 L2L 45.7
    62MAS reissue SLA017 - D 39.5 L2L 47.8
    SNZG015 - D 41.9 L2L 49.4
    Turtle SRP777 - D 44.6 L2L 47.4
    SSA067 - D 42.1 L2L 46.0

    TAG Heuer
    Aquaracer WAP2010 - D 41.0 L2L 47.9

Very useful thread, this should really be a requirement on all watch-related websites.

    Omega Constellation Manhattan (1987) 35mm dia - 38mm L2L (integrated bracelet though)

    Glycine Airman Double Twelve - 40mm dia - 46mm L2L

I agree. Too bad it hasn't caught on. I guess members are too busy posting on the What are you Wearing Now threads!
