I see many threads asking if this watch is too big, or if that watch is too small. I also see many threads and websites with advice on the perfect watch size. While the answer to that question is admittedly subjective, one thing that I have come to realize is that lug to lug length is one of the best indicators of how a watch will fit me. In my opinion, for my 7" wrist, the perfect lug to lug length is 48mm, with 50mm being the longest length that I think fits well. Anything under 43mm tends to look small on me. Using this standard, I have come to realize that a 44mm case with a 48mm lug to lug measurement can sometimes fit me better than a 42mm case with 52mm lug to lug measurements.
I looked for a thread or a website that maintains a list of lug to lug lengths for different manufacturers and I was not able to find anything even close to complete. That is when I thought it might be a good idea to have members list the case size and lug to lug measurements of their favorite watches, or their entire collections to benefit others and serve as a repository. I hope this will not devolve into a debate about the importance of lug to lug measurements. I would rather that it serve as a "database" that members can access for a quick reference on watches they are researching, or a place they can browse and find watches that are a good fit.
Anyway, here are my three favorite watches with their case sizes and lug to lug measurements:
Omega Speedmaster Pro: Case 42mm - Lug to Lug 48mm
Hamilton Khaki Mechanical: Case 38mm - Lug to Lug 48mm (some say 47.5mm)
Glycine Combat Sub: Case 42mm - Lug to Lug 46mm
Keep it going, you may see something posted you never thought would be a good fit for you!
