    Lumes

Why is it that most sites don't show the night view so you can see the dial lit up?

    Really grinds my gears.

Because it's not one of their selling point? AFAIK only Ball and Panerai has the night view on their website

I never really thought about it but that would be helpful. I often seek out lume pics on watchuseek. I guess they don't do it because it doesn't help them sell more watches, although it does matter to me.

It's a bit risky as the lume is a personal visual perception, sometimes people are happy with the watch's design but they suddenly happen that something is wrong with the lume (too weak, too bright, wrong color scheme...)

Many high-end watches don't even bother to have lume.

It's just that sometimes when a watch is advertised as having luminous markers - they're awful- like why bother degree of awful.

    Re: Lumes

I love lume on my watches but it is far more important to me that the watch looks good in daylight. If the lume is nice then I tend to look on it as a sort of bonus. I freely admit that when lume shots are available I pay them little attention.

No point in such pics. You usually can always make lume look great for three seconds for a quick Internet photo. You'll never know how strong, long lasting, effective lume will be until you actually have the watch and can use it and see for yourself.

I gotta be honest, I don't really get all the fuss about lume. What do you people do, sit around in the dark all the time?!

There isn't one single day where I was hoping for better lume. Please "enlighten" me.

    This
+ lume is perceived different by different customers
+ it is not the lume selling a watch
    Kind regards
