4.5 billion years old gives new meaning to the term vintage.
Hmmmm, their claim that rocks were brought back by an unmanned probe in 1974 doesn't jive with the facts. Loose soil was brought back in 1970 and 1972 and a core sample was brought back in 1976. Something is 'fishy' about this.
That'd be a fun thing to say to a coworker who comes in one day sporting an engagement ring. "Why are you wearing a rock on your finger? A little daft if you ask me." :-d
I didn't notice the link to the site on the first post, but now that I see it, where the heck does a company that sells watches for 100-300 USD get moon rocks to sell for 27k? I wouldn't be surprised if the Soviets weren't completely honest in the amount of moon rocks they brought back (under or over estimating) so yeah, I would question the authenticity. But even if it was a Patek, I'd want the rock by itself.
Are there other watches made from rock? Like volcanic rock? Regardless rocks aren't really my style when it comes to watches. It'd be Cool to have, but I would never want to wear it.
You've never heard of the infamous Tissot Rock Watch? It's the reason I'll never own a Tissot... I just can't shake the brand's association with such a piece of 'cheese'.
