Madoff's watches (and more) all being auctioned this Sat - Cat link

Looks like he liked vintage Rolexes. LOTS of very rare, very low serial number pieces there.

    Madoff items are lots 196 - 386

I wouldnt buy anything he's got. Probably end up with a lifetime of bad luck for touching anything he's touched.

Does anybody know if Madoff's Rolex was the actual watch worn by Sgt. Nutting?

That is the exact same thought that I had. Watches purchased at the expense of others' life savings. No thanks.

Eh, it isn't the watch's fault that the owner was a swindler. Selling this stuff off is how the people who lost money will get some small portion of it back.

How do you know however that it was Madoff's stuff? Bet the Rolex Chronographs are sweet.

So what difference does it make, whether it's 20 minutes or 20 years, since neither amounts to the faintest echo of the tiniest whisper in the thunder of time.

I do not have a problem with that either. Think this way: at least the watch will be worn now by a honest person!

I understand and respect your opinion, RJ!!

On a sidenote, in UK I lived in a farm house where about 50-150 people have passed away (naturally I should add) over the centuries. It was a "happy" house, it had a good feel to it.
